This week we’re celebrating the release Ed Motta’s fantastic new album, Behind the Tea Chronicles. For your listening pleasure, I’ve created a mix that considers the 35-year recording career of the Brazilian composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and Steely Dan superfan, from his teenage debut in 1988 to his 14th studio album, which dropped late last week.
ICYMI, check out my interview with Senhor Motta on his shelved album recorded at Donald Fagen’s River Sound Studios with the Royal Scam rhythm section. Also, listen to Ed’s “Danesque” mix that pulls from every branch of the Becker-Fagen musical tree, from Hoagy Carmichael to Prince.
Aproveite! Enjoy!
